Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Aberdeen, SD

There were three employees at the front desk when I checked in around 6pm. They did not greet me, welcome me to the hotel, offer free waters at part of my bonvoy status, and two of the three people didn't make eye contact nor said a word...they were too busy having their own conversation not about work (a shorter dark haired gentleman and a shorter woman). I think the person who checked me in was named "Mason" and he came across as a trainee doing his best to get me checked in while the other two individuals carried on their own conversation. Everyone was on their phones before and after I checked in. I felt like I was getting in their way of their personal activities. I also needed to ask about amenities, locations, and times of use. The complimentary breakfast was well stocked, clean, and organized. All in all a nice hotel, and the staff could use some training on professionalism when checking in a guest.

Love the style of the rooms. Plenty of drawer space and closet. Coffee maker, tall mini fridge w/freezer, microwave. Water is softened which I am not a fan but nice bathroom. Breakfast was kinda crappy. No flavored creamer and I just went down at 6:45a for breakfast. Can Bluetooth sound to tv from devices or hook up game system/laptop to tv.

One of the best Fairfield’s I’ve stayed at. Super clean, modern, and the team is super friendly! Breakfast was delicious with lots of options to choose from. Probably the best hotel in Aberdeen. Definitely staying here again!

The room was clean. Huge bathroom! The hot tub was nice. The was fantastic! There was a large variety of food including fresh melons and an outside patio area to eat or relax. The service was very good. The location is just 10 minutes away from Storybook Land.

Our room was ready when we arrived. It was clean and comfortable. The outside patio was also a wonderful addition for our stay. They have a very good supply of food for breakfast with scrambled eggs, waffles, and cereal. There was also fruit available.

This place really deserves a 5 star review. It was very clean and the staff was great. Breakfast was above average and the price is very reasonable. The only reason it loses 1 star is because I like a nice hot shower in the mornings and I only got a warm shower for 5 mins before I lost hot water. Other than that slight inconvenience this hotel is awesome.

I’ve now stayed at this location twice, and overall it’s been a solid experience. The property is clean, well-kept, and most of the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are a great size perfect for extended stays and my team had nothing but good things to say about theirs as well. That said, the late-night front desk service could use some improvement. When I arrived to check in after a long day of travel, the front desk employee answered a call on his personal cell phone and made me wait. Once he finally checked me in, he clearly saw my status, but there was still a noticeable lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. Not something I normally make a big deal about, but the timing made it stand out. Breakfast is your typical hotel continental setup, but with a nice selection and consistently fresh, hot coffee which I appreciated each morning. One thing worth mentioning: this is the first hotel I’ve been to in a long time where employees weren’t wearing any kind of uniform or even business casual attire. Everyone was dressed extremely casually, almost like fellow guests. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. On the positive side, the daytime front desk staff is fantastic and super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Despite a few quirks, this is still a great option in Aberdeen. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
